Termite House

Inspired by the termite mounds of West Africa both aesthetically and functionally, the partially subterranean structure is built up from the same earth that was dug out.  Four sizes of cylindrical adobe bricks were formed from the excavated clay.  The thick earth walls, dome and chimneys aid with the structure's notable passive cooling systems, while simultaneously creating a cathedral-like interior space.
